Welcome back, everyone! I had to take a hiatus from the Moultrie Cross, but we are back in business! Fifty is a very nice number, but I encourage you to go ahead and share this petition with at least one other person. Go ahead! It's very easy, and it will help us gain traction!
I have emailed one Mikaela Porter of the Post & Courier, to see if she's interested in putting my story in the newspaper! I hope that will help cast a broad net of support. That's exciting! It would be marvelous for this city to have an all-new flag for our 350th year.
Councilmember Jackson and I have gotten back in touch, and she has agreed to pass on the Moultrie Cross to others. That's also exciting! Really, the key to any project like this is getting support - whether it's from members of our government, or from all of you! Both are critical to the success of this flag.
Again, thank you all for signing!
The attached picture is my very first design, which I called the Proprietor's Cross. Interestingly, I came up with it 9 months ago, while working at James Island County Park. I changed it because I didn't think it had enough symbolism for Charleston, and the colors were too light. A visitor might think all the flags were faded. What do you think?
