Let Elizabeth Colaianni Keep Her Fur Babies

Let Elizabeth Colaianni Keep Her Fur Babies
The Issue
"These cats are my children. I don't have any children. I'm not married. They're my life."
Those are the pleading words of Elizabeth Colaianni, who is facing over $11,000 in fees and legal fines for having a second cat. In 2008, Elizabeth adopted the brother cats, Rocky and Nicky, just before buying a condo at Leisure Village. The cats never seemed to be an issue at the senior citizen community until Elizabeth decided to install a ramp four years later. She had become disabled and needed it so she could travel in and out of her home. Suddenly, she started getting a monthly fee for the extra cat from the condo association. Elizabeth feels it’s retribution for installing the ramp.
A cat that had been there for four years had suddenly become an issue. What’s even more astounding is that an extra person living in the home would be charged $10 extra a month. But a cat is over $200 each month.
It’s time for the condo association to leave Elizabeth, Rocky, and Nicky in peace. The fines, legal fees, and threats of eviction need to stop. Help end this 4-year fight by signing our petition telling the Leisure Village condo association to drop the $11,000 in charges and allow Elizabeth to keep her cat without having to pay outrageous fees.
