To Our Supporters,
Words simply do not express how deeply grateful we are for each and every one of you that signed and shared our petition. Together we have passed a benchmark goal of 2,500 signatures! We want to keep our supporters updated on what exactly your time and energy is doing for our cause and so far your enormous efforts have so far pressured Polk County officials to take another look at the intersection. We have had particularly promising responses from the Mayor of Ankeny, Bobbi Bentz and Polk County District 2 Supervisor Jill Altringer. We Are Iowa Local 5 News interviewed our own representative, Hollie Ohrt who recently lost her mother Linda Fristoe to the deadly intersection. If you haven’t yet watched or read the article yet, you can find the link at the bottom of our petition. You can expect Hollie to be on WHO13 in the upcoming week as well sharing our cause
Moving forward, we need to get our loved ones stories and the petition in front of the decision makers. The important thing to keep in mind about this intersection is that while it technically is in the city of Bondurant, the intersection has no city jurisdiction and falls under Polk County authority. However, This does NOT mean that we are not showing up to city council meetings, and contacting every legislator possible. We encourage everybody to attend every meeting possible, we are stronger in numbers. You have all shown up for our loved ones like family and we will never forget the compassion we were shown, now let’s make this change happen for Scott, for Samantha, and for Linda.
