The city of Sparta dog ordinance states residents may only have two dogs in their home.  The town of Sparta may have three dogs in their home.  There are a many reasons to have three dogs in a home.  Please sign our petition to make the change so our city residents can open their home to a third dog if they choose.  There are so many wonderful dogs needing a safe loving home.    

City of Sparta Sec. 12-288. - Limit of dogs.
No individual owner or family unit living together, firm or corporation shall keep more than two dogs over the age of six months, excepting bona fide animal hospitals in which the dogs are confined and kennels.

The Town of Sparta permits no more than 3 dogs per household over 5 months of age.
