Change the bus stops for the middle school & high school to Pertch Rd and Barbara Rd
The Issue
On Wednesday, March 1st approximately at 7:35am the driver of a vehicle had a medical emergency. Which caused the driver to drive through a bus stop and hit a fence. This accident occurred at intersection Baltimore Annapolis BLVD and Riverdale RD. Thank God no children were injured.
The bus stops on Baltimore Annapolis BLVD are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. Baltimore Annapolis BLVD is a busy road with terrible drivers. I cannot tell you how many times the electric poles are replaced due to drivers being in a hurry to get to their destination.
Which leads me to my second concern about the current bus stops. You have parents sitting in their vehicle with their child on both sides of the road waiting for the bus to come. This is a safe option for the child in the vehicle, but it is creating a dangerous situation for the other children. The parked vehicles on both sides of the road are now creating a dangerous situation to where there is only room for one vehicle to go down or up Pertch Rd or Riverdale Rd. Which is a car accident waiting to happen. The drivers of vehicles turning into Pertch RD or Riverdale RD now have a hard time seeing children walking up to the bus stop or leaving.
I personally experience this every morning and afternoon. No child should be put in harm’s way. That is why I am begging you to change the bus stops immediately.
Currently, the elementary school kids have a bus stop at Pertch Rd and Barbara Rd. Can you please change the bus stops for the middle school and high school to Pertch Rd and Barbara Rd Immediately.
