I am still in contact with my senator’s tax team and have already contacted them about this issue. 

I’m coming to you today because we all need to make our voices heard NOW. Congress is likely to pass H.R. 7024, Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024. 
It contains several retroactive tax changes that would significantly delay our filing season. Tax software companies and the IRS would need to re-code their systems to accommodate these tax changes. Meeting deadlines in March and April would be practically impossible. 
Please reach out to your members in Congress and let them know that this filing season’s deadline would be significantly impacted by this tax bill. You can find your members in Congress at: https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member
