Hello everyone, 

Because of this petition, I've met some really great people. As it turns out, one of them has been fighting this fight longer than me. His name is Doug Thorburn, EA, CFP. He has a Facebook group called "Making Tax Deadlines Less Deadly" and I'd like to invite you to join. It is a place where we can discuss the deadline issue without being dependent on petition updates for communication. I will continue to update here, but this is only one-way communication. Also, I am still in communication with legislative staff at my local Congressman's office. I kept quiet while midterm elections and holidays were the focus. I will resume contact soon and continue to try to find new contacts to help. 

Recently, Doug and I submitted proposed papers for consideration by the IRS and Tax Policy Center for their joint research conference on tax administration. We hope to garner their interest in researching this topic.
