Starkville and its hospitality businesses are missing out on valuable revenue due to the current sales hours that limit sales from 10 AM to 12 AM on weekdays and 1 AM on weekends.

With early and late TV kickoffs, we are missing out on tons of money with MSU pre/post games. With the to go cups being allowed this change would greatly benefit downtown and the Cotton District.

College towns like Tuscaloosa and  Athens allow sales up to 3 and 2 AM, respectively. Non-college towns in MS like Madison, Hazelhurst, West Point, Waynesboro, and Meridian all go past 1 AM for sales. Towns like Waveland, Moss Point, Gulfport, and Biloxi allow for 24/7 sales.

The additional revenue from the sales/food and beverage taxes can go a long way to fund public service needs in the city.
