What happens when you keep the door to corruption open?
Albo campaigned quite successfully on the introduction of a NACC when in opposition. He then quickly set about getting it up and running with the most least qualified, high paid, dual jobber Paul Brereton. I question the 'Honourable' bit in his title, because I'm old school and believe in the definition of that word to represent his actions, not what some paid official pinned on his uniform. He is known to have a conflict of interest regarding the Robodebt Royal Commission. I'll spare you the details, but I'm guessing there is more dirt on this than is publicly known.
Point is Albo has chosen to keep the NACC a secret, continues to appoint a mate of the mates, who in turn continues to protect the 1%. Those responsible for Robodebt where promoted not punished.
Albo chose to keep the door to corruption open. Because the last thing he wants is a NACC investigating him and the Australian Labor Party. And he certainly doesn't want the NACC to hunt down the 1% gang, as that would turn off political donations to Labor. And the 1% will do anything to defend their wealth.
Clive Palmer successfully bought himself a parliamentary seat and the table simply to avoid any negative consequences to his tax payments. Gina has Pauline. The Liberals and Nationals have their mates, but betting on them is like betting on an old horse, but better than the younger filly with the green saddlecloth that won't accept their influence, direction or control.
How can a 1 percenter influence a political party that won't accept their "donation"?
What Albo didn't count on is the door to corruption swings both ways. You see in order for our current system of government to pretend to work for us but actually achieve SFA for the 99%. They need the news cycle to be flooded with left vs right BS, with neighbour vs neighbour conflict, crimewaves, heatwaves and caravans, to noise complaints, sport outrage and useless content, so they can quietly sneak changes to the law that benefit the 1% or defend their wealth a bit more.
Take the Privacy Act. Sounds good. Sounds like it protects us. Well, it doesn't. If a corporation wants to sell your data - FU. But if you report that same corporation to say ATO for Tax Avoidance - "for privacy reasons we can't devolve the information pertaining your submission... blah blah...".
There are a lot of laws that give individuals in corporations or government immunity from prosecution. Our politicians ARE outside the law. 3 public servants were convicted of illegal misconduct. Sco Mo was one of them. And all the NACC had to do was decide punishment. The evidence was irrefutable, yet nothing happened. Now had that been a public hearing, there would have been outrage and rightly so.
This isn't new. It's not Labor only. Liberals were just as culpable. Sco Mo was worse than Abbot. Albo worse than Rudd. It's the direction of where shit is heading. The USA is in the lead, followed by the UK with Canada and Australia in behind. Our government is corrupt as a F!
And now we have a potentially foreign lead, hidden consortium propping up One Nation with deep fake AI slop and Albo being a good lap dog and instead of investigating the allegations, or fixing NACC, is feigning pretence to call them out - ie: he is purposefully fanning the flames. Fuelling the fire of hatred and distraction because the Liberals are no longer a big enough distraction anymore.
I wouldn't be at all surprised these websites are a deliberate attempt by certain one percenters to funnel money into One Nation using 'individual' donations as a cover to evade detection and tripping the donation cap. If you had the time, money and effort in building a web app showing fake video of Pauline caring for people in hospital - Click Here to Donate Now - why would you pass that on to One Nation. You'd just scam the dumb arse and keep the cash.
Obviously, this is a deliberate, illegal attempt to bribe Pauline. Could be Gina, Rupert or Kerry Stokes? Who knows? My P&C organisation I volunteer at is more accountable than the LibLabNatOneClive party.
However this could also lead to Albos demise. Not that he is necessarily worried - he still ends up with a cushy job of his choosing and shit tons of pay. The 1% will be ecstatic having the most pliable party they could ever manage - like TACO Trump, Pauline would ruin Australia off the map, giving the AI tech bros anything they want.
We'll be back to fighting over meaningless crap, and not against the 1% that actually caused this shit to begin with.
Albo has made it easier for organised crime to fund political donations. Hiding, secrecy, exceptions, and making complicated rules, makes it harder for the 99% to comply while making easier for the 1% to thrive.
On that measure Albo is worse than Sco Mo, because he campaigned on fixing corruption, only to be more corrupt than any sitting government yet in Australian history.
And to be clear it's not Albo per se, it's the machine. It's our government. There is NO incentive of ANY party that accepts donations from the 1%, offering access for cash, revolving door access or golden escalators, to do better and actually stamp out corruption.
It's up to us to keep the fight against the 1%. To change 1 word to "Must - hold public meetings", back campaigns like a 25% tax on gas exports, and chop down the tall poppies to size.
