Petition updateChange 'may' to 'must' for NACC public hearingsHow Privatisation Fails Every Single Time

At 53 years old now, I'm young enough to remember NSW Electricity being run by the government.  Correct me if I'm wrong but if I recall correctly the power grid was split into two huge counties, one big one for Eastern Sydney, one even larger one for Western Sydney.

While you couldn't shop around you didn't need to because power was affordable.  All the money went to the independently, government run, institution.  Didn't need to pay CEO, foreign investors or shareholders.  In fact the best advantage for any government run power company is that it doesn't have to make a profit.   But we can all agree if it did, it becomes a self-sustaining model.

Now I know that power is state control, and the NACC is federal, but corruption is the same and impacts the 99% while the 1% are the benefactors.  And when it's in the system, it behaves exactly like cancer - a rot that if is not removed only grows and gets worse.

A government run power grid has no incentive to donate to a political party, to gain political favour to change the rules to gain more profit.

A privatised power grid has every incentive to bribe, lie, and worm their way into the political diary's of elected officials to ensure they get their promised profits.

It's not like our political parties both state and federal are honest about political donations, public access to their diary's and access to lobbying groups.

I firmly believe a fully functional NACC with Public Hearings will grant the public a true insight to the corruption at the highest levels of government, and that chemotherapy will have a direct impact to the overall health of all of Australia.

Personally, I don't trust the Liberals, Labor, One Nation or Nationals.  One of the Teals is a bit dodgy too.  Greens are not perfect but they are the least corrupt.

And the frustrating thing is none of this is hard.  One word makes the NACC more powerful.  Forcing political parties to publicly post their audited finances public - one simple change.  Introduces a ton of accountability.

All servants of government infrastructure must be employed by the government.  Hell NSW has learnt the costly mistake of selling and now buying back a North Shore hospital.  This isn't a Labor vs Liberals, she said he did.  This is a systematic, systemic, cancerous, corruption of our governance.  A foreign lead influential assault on public servants bought and paid for by the super wealthy.

We are turning into America and I for one would like to stop that.
