Change Leadership of the VI Public Libraries - DPNR Fails Children, Families, and Seniors

As a librarian, we are taught how to create a library website and we are also taught about library management. When I was in my library science degree program I learned that the VII Public Libraries is an example of non-compliance, mismanagement, and overall poor library services for children, families, and senior citizens. 

This screenshot shows the DPNR website hosting the Division of Libraries, Archives, and Museums, (DLAM) which is horrible, for a lack of a better word! Are we living in a dictatorship where the people have no voice? 

Technology today is far advanced and the territory's public libraries are 10 or more years behind because of neglect, greed, and corrupt officials who are in power to make a change and have failed to do so.

According to the website, the Director of DLAM states:

"To the People of the Virgin Islands and visitors, Welcome to our new Virgin Islands Public Library System website! Visiting your local library online is one way you can keep up with the changes and access information. Our libraries, throughout the territory, are available to you “virtually” 24/7 via the Web, as well as physically via our many facilities located on St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St John. One of our missions is to expand library services, bringing information resources to the Virgin Islands libraries through greater uses of technology and electronic resources. Our goal is to make our public libraries the “place to go” in the community for our citizens…"
