The Issue

Too many of my friends and family have been lost to fentanyl and other drugs. This is a true epidemic, and we need a unique solution to end it. I believe that letting drug informants receive all the proceeds of crime from those they report is the innovative approach we need.

The drug trade is driven by greed, and leveraging greed to dismantle it wouldn’t just be a spear on the war on drugs,  it would be a machine gun. By changing the law to allow informants to significantly profit from their cooperation, while offering them witness protection, we turn the tables on the industry itself. These are the people that know there’s 10 kg of fentanyl in that house or there is a room full of money stacked to the ceiling. This would create a powerful incentive for informants to come forward and provide more substantial information about their suppliers.

Millions of dollars are currently spent on lengthy investigations and court proceedings. Allowing informants to receive criminal proceeds can save these resources, as individuals caught red-handed would have no defense other than to comply. It is not a difficult choice for them, I believe every single person that is caught red handed will rat on their supplier and choose freedom and financial gain over incarceration.

The old saying there is no honour among thieves, is absolutely true. If informants can obtain vast amounts of wealth and be protected while doing so, they will turn on each other,by aiding law enforcement and  the very foundation of the drug trade could be disrupted. This proposal could potentially eliminate drug networks more efficiently than traditional methods have managed to achieve.

This approach has the potential to save lives, slow down the drug epidemic, and radically change how we combat this pressing issue. By adjusting the incentives within the legal framework, we provide an alternative path for those within the industry to assist in its deconstruction.

Join us in pushing for a change that could reshape our fight against drugs. Sign this petition to show your support for a new law that allows informants to benefit from their cooperation in bringing down drug networks. Together, we can strive for a future without the devastating impact of drug abuse.
