Ever since Meta/Facebook took over Instagram, the app has become very low quality and fully automated in support and customer service. It is now inflated with ads, full of bots, and entirely flooded with scams and cyber criminals.
I propose this be done and over with.

As a struggling artist who wants more done for promotional causes and constantly being at risk of getting restricted and/or having my account with a fan base deleted after all these years, I’m done with this crap.

Meta needs to bite the bullet and allow open expression, take down what should be taken down, and stop mindless automation that is systematically making it difficult for young creators and those who can’t pay for a promotion to get noticed and have a chance to share their art.

in my petition for change, i propose this list:

-make teaching customer support easier, allow customers to be able to talk to human representatives 

-stop making direct support accessible only to elite and the wealthy, I.E. this page which is not listed in the Instagram site map: https://help.instagram.com/contact/243731220763181 which requires you to have a IG representative 

-help filter bots out along with scammers and cybercriminals 

-stop pushing wealth with your algorithm

-do more to stop hate speech, anti minority groups, and terroristic promotional activities

-open applications to your appeals board in which unbiased staff may receive wages to consider appeals due to your malfunctioned reporting system, check and fix every appeal you receive, not just “a handful per month” as your site openly states.

this list of demands will be expanded as this petition grows, Meta, it’s time we take our platform back to what it used to be, not the cash cow you want it to be.

If I win this, the most I can do is pray Instagram staff noticed and allows change, if I lose, me and my fellow artists, creators, advocates, media accounts, and content creators will lose our ability to share openly on one of the most renowned platforms of media to exist.

ITS TIME WE STOP THIS AND TAKE OUR RIGHTS BACK.

LETS FORGET POLITICS, LETS FORGET SIDES, LETS REMEMBER WHO WE ARE AS HUMANS AND NOT BE SHUT DOWN AND SILENCED FOR USING OUR VOICES.
