change Goguardian Policies in Imagine Chancellor
The Issue
I'm a student at Imagine Chancellor, living daily with the reality of having an Individualized Education Program (IEP). My learning journey is unique, requiring personalized attention and support. However, the stringent regulations of Goguardian, our school's tech management tool, hinder my learning process. I'm unable to watch valuable educational videos and enjoy interactive games that could significantly contribute to my understanding of complex subjects.
Comparable schools frequently permit their students to utilize multimedia in their learning, contributing to more engaging, diverse, and effective classes. However, our current Goguardian rules stand as a roadblock to modern and inclusive teaching methods.
The National Center on Accessible Educational Materials has highlighted the importance of the use of multi-media in education for students with IEPs. According to their findings, students with special learning needs often thrive when educational materials are presented in multiple ways, including through video and interactive games (National Center on Accessible Educational Materials, 2020). Aligning Imagine Chancellor's Goguardian policies with these recommendations could greatly improve the educational outcomes for all students, particularly those with IEPs.
I urge the decision-makers at Imagine Chancellor to reconsider the current rules, to accommodate for a more inclusive learning environment where all students, regardless of their learning abilities, can thrive. Your signature on this petition could be the beginning of a much-needed change in our classrooms. Please sign and support this push for better educational inclusion.
