The student of Joliet West and Central highschool feel it is needed to address the problems with our school dress code. Schools sexualize and target women for what they wear. Our bodies are not a distraction, our legs, shoulders, and stomach are not sexual part of our body. Most importantly, these body parts showing don’t stop us from learning. Our education is more important than the clothing on our bodies. At the end of the day what we wear to school is not a distraction, it just causes girls to be harassed by school staff. We are hoping as a group that our petition will help change this for more than just our generation but for the future generation also. #itstimeforchange #saynotodresscode
