Good Evening Highlanders,

First off, I want to thank everyone for the fantastic support on this topic! Within 15 hours of this petition going up, we all managed to hit 1000 signatures! In 24 hours, we were able to hit 1500 signatures! Now we are at 2,900 signatures! This petition has gained so much traction and I am deeply thankful for all the support. The more signatures we get, the stronger our position becomes, so please continue sharing this with your friends on social media.

For Transparency, I wanted to inform you all of updates regarding this campaign. As of now, I will be submitting our senate resolution to our Legislative Review Committee (LRC) within ASUCR for reviewal. If the legislation passes LRC, it will reach the ASUCR Senate floor to be voted on. I have high hopes that it will be able to pass. I will be attaching the legislation at the bottom of this update. As a disclaimer, the resolution is subject to change.

Furthermore, over the weekend, I have drafted up a letter to send to UCR administration. On Monday, I have introduced the letter to my fellow colleagues in the COVID-19 Response committee for reviewal. Currently, we have established a subcommittee that I will be spearheading to comb through the letter in order to polish it. Our goal is to send the letter to administration sometime during week 3.

Also, I have created a survey to gather data regarding how many students are currently residing home, on-campus, or off-campus for the month of January. I will also attach this at the bottom of this update.

Finally, I will be updating the petition after I post this update to polish and professionalize it more. Thank you all so much again for your support! I will keep you all posted on the campaign's progress!
