Sugarwise wants to increase the number of lower sugar options available, giving people an easy and effective way of identify products through the Sugarwise certification. Sugar content is confusing. We know that excess sugar is bad for our health, but understanding exactly how much sugar is excessive can be tricky. The Sugarwise kitemark changes this. In order to display the Sugarwise kitemark, products must pass rigorous analytical testing. The kitemark allows consumers to identify exactly which products are low in free sugars and therefore make healthier choices. Sugarwise are also one of the UK’s foremost campaigning organisations within the sugar and obesity public health debates. Influential in government they have given evidence to the Health Select Committee alongside Jamie Oliver, and are also the organisers of The Sugar Summit so it’s fantastic to have them on board with the #DontTaxHealthy campaign.
