The Issue

In recent times, an alarming number of users around the world, including myself, have faced unjust actions by Meta's platforms, Facebook and Instagram. Our accounts have been suspended without clear explanations or any prior warning. This abrupt disconnection from these crucial networks is not only frustrating but also impacts personal and professional life adversely. Meta often claims that users violated platform policies, yet many affected users believe these allegations are unfounded and are left without meaningful support or a clear appeal option.

Social media platforms are no longer just tools for sharing personal photos or updates. For millions of people, they are lifelines—vital channels for conducting business, building careers, reaching customers, and maintaining social connections. Every hour of denied access can represent significant financial, professional, and emotional harm, especially for individuals whose livelihoods depend on these platforms.

What is even more disheartening is the lack of transparency and the difficulty many users face when trying to resolve these issues. Countless individuals report being unable to reach effective customer support. When they do receive responses, those responses are often generic and fail to address their specific concerns. This systemic lack of accountability deserves immediate attention.

We believe that the suspension practices employed by Facebook and Instagram, under Meta, can be arbitrary and frequently lack sufficient explanation. We are calling on Meta to provide transparent guidelines and a clear, accessible appeals process to ensure fairness. Users should have the right to challenge suspensions and receive detailed explanations along with practical pathways to resolution.

We request that Meta establish and publicly maintain a robust, user-friendly process for reviewing account suspensions. Trained personnel should be available to handle disputes promptly and effectively. In addition, periodic independent audits should be conducted to promote accountability and ensure that enforcement actions are applied fairly.
