My name is Lynette Sikorski, a resident of Lackawanna, NY. I am raising this issue that deeply concerns me and, undoubtedly, many others living in our city – the recently announced 23.6% proposed increase in tax levy. This substantial surge is going to inflate the property taxes of our whole community, putting an unnecessary strain on our finances in already challenging times.

Factually, this increase stands as one of the most substantial in our city's history, potentially leading to a ripple effect of issues for homeowners and renters alike. Already, Lackawanna residents pay a significantly higher rate compared to average American households. 

It is vital that we, as a community, stand together against this unprecedented hike. This proposed increase lacks an understanding of the economic realities that many Lackawanna residents are facing today. It is our duty to ensure our city remains affordable and habitable for all residents.
