First ever England Safe Standing plus Update from Saints Chairman Ralph Krueger

Southampton Independents
Oct 4, 2017
I have received news from other Safe Standing campaigners that the first EVER safe standing in England will happen in March 2018.
Sadly this is not at St. Mary's but at Shrewsbury Town.
So we need more signatures on this petition!
We are now at 600 signers of this petition. Thanks to everybody who has signed and who has encouraged others to sign. Please keep it up!
Mr Krueger should be receiving information as more people sign up.
Please find below the full response to my request to him for Saints to trial Safe Standing.
Please post your comments below on the petition site or contact us via the Southampton Independents website.
Dear Councillor Andrew Pope,
Thank you for taking the time to write to the club on this matter. I have taken note of the number of signatures you have received with regards to the petition for Safe Standing. As always, we warmly welcome the views of our fans.
Our club has kept abreast with the topic of Safe Standing. We will continue to monitor the development of this topic and will action what is best for the club and its fans in the future.
Safe Standing was discussed in depth at the Premier League Shareholders meeting this past June and it remains a topic that is being reviewed in full by our league’s leadership. As it stands, we are legally required to provide a fully seated stadium. We will continually revisit ways to improve St. Mary’s and it is important that we continue to develop the experience of a match day in a safe environment.
I thank you again for the information that you have provided. The passion of our fans and the safety of our supporters will always be areas of focus that we will share.
Best Wishes,
Ralph Krueger
