Esta petición es a nombre de habitantes de la ciudad de Guanajuato capital donde próximamente se llevará a cabo la 51 Edición del Festival Internacional Cervantino: 

Cabe resaltar que nos complace saber que EEUU y el estado mexicano de Sonora serán los invitados de honor en esta ocasión, sin embargo hemos querido compartir por este medio, que a lo largo de estas festividades que se han realizado el mes de Octubre durante los últimos 50 años, cada vez más ciudadanos que vivimos en la ciudad coincidimos en que disfrutamos mucho del festival y sabemos de la importancia de este para generar derrama económica y todos los beneficios que conlleva que nuestra ciudad sea sede, sin embargo no hemos podido ignorar la siguiente situación que aquí se expone y por la que hemos decidido alzar la voz en apoyo a los seres que no pueden hablar y que también son habitantes de la ciudad, refiriendo a los niños autistas, enfermos, adultos mayores o en condiciones especiales que están lidiando con alguna enfermedad, y a los animales, quienes no la pasan bien a causa de los fuegos pirotécnicos con los que se suele celebrar tanto la inauguración como la clausura de tan magno evento. 

Nuestra ciudad es pequeña, cada que acontecen este tipo de sucesos, al siguiente día, es común saber de decenas de animales de compañía que lograron escapar de sus ubicaciones supuestamente huyendo de una situación complicada que su razón no les deja entender debido a los fuertes ruidos que la pirotecnia genera, también se ha sabido de casos terribles en los que perros que tienen en las azoteas, saltan en su desesperación de huir y resguardarse pero al caer de varios pisos terminan muertos. La misma situación de estrés la viven los pájaros y especies volátiles que duermen en los árboles, en fin, cualquier tipo de vida animal ya sea doméstica o silvestre es vulnerable a los sonidos estruendosos y explosiones en el aire. 

Con esta petición se pretende convocar a la ciudadania de Guanajuato capital y a cualquier persona empática con la situación planteada, a sumarse para lograr que esta edición del Festival Cervantino y las que vienen sean diferentes. 

Se ha sabido que en otros lugares, como en Montreal, Canadá, por mencionar alguno, se ha estado innovando al llevar a cabo las celebraciones de eventos de esta índole de la mano de la tecnología por medio de el uso de drones con el que se consigue un show de luces fantástico, vistoso, pero sobre todo, amigable con el entorno y el medio ambiente. 

Mediante las firmas aquí generadas, invitamos a los dirigentes del festival y a las autoridades estatales y municipales a suprimir el uso de fuegos pirotécnicos y/o artificiales (que además son causantes de numerosos accidentes fatales) dando oportunidad al uso de otras opciones que podrían no restarle atractivo al festival. 

Esperando este año contar con una edición del Festival Internacional Cervantino reinventado, innovado, evolucionado y aprovechando las herramientas que abren la brecha a la modernidad.

This petition is on behalf of the inhabitants of the capital city of Guanajuato, Mexico; where the 51st Edition of the Cervantino International Festival will be held in October 2023. We are pleased to welcome the United States and the Mexican State of Sonora as the guests of honor this year. More and more citizens who live in the city agree that we really enjoy of the festival and we know the importance to generate economic and social benefits that our city entails as a venue. We have not been able to ignore the following situation that is exposed here and for which we have decided raise our voice in support of beings who cannot speak and who are also inhabitants of the city. I am referring to autistic children, the sick, the elderly or in special conditions that are dealing with some disease, and to animals, who do not have a good time because of the fireworks with which they usually celebrate both the opening and the closing of Cervantino.

Our city is small, every time these events occur the next day it is common that dozens of pets have escaped from their homes; fleeing the loud noises generated by fireworks. It has also been known of terrible cases in which dogs that they have on the roofs, jump in their desperation to flee and take shelter. The same stressful situation is experienced by birds and volatile species that sleep in trees and any type of animal life whether domestic or wild.

With this petition it is intended to summon the citizens of Guanajuato capital and any empathetic person to join to achieve that this 51st edition of the Cervantino Festival is free of pyrotechnics. It has been known that in other places, like Montreal, Canada, have been innovating when carrying out the
celebrations of this nature through the use of drones. The drones produce a fantastic light show, colorful, but above all, friendly to the environment and atmosphere. Through the signatures generated here, we invite the leaders of the festival and the state and municipal authorities to suppress the use of fireworks and/or artificial, giving opportunity to use other options that might not detract attractive to the festival.

Hoping this year to have an edition of the International Festival Cervantino reinvented, innovated, evolved and taking advantage of the tools that lead the way to the modernity.
