We have just watched/listened to the recording of the meeting and we are even more concerned as a result. The CBC guy is basically saying they are “proposing” not considering building the 100 homes and throwing in a sweetener by saying they want to understand what the residents want doing with the rest of the land.
Sounds like a distraction strategy to get the 100 homes to generate revenue which the people in Houghton will probably never see. 100 homes which in reality will probably turn out to include blocks of flats creating an eyesore and social problems which will not be worth any amount of sweeteners they may thrown in.

Well done Cllr Pat Hamill, I agree, there is very little trust in the CBC, further eroded by the snub we have received this last week regarding the swimming pool/leisure facilities going to Leighton.

If we get taken in by this approach more fool us. Our stance as a community should be no thank you to any residential development on that site.
