This week's Roys Report and Wartburg Watch reveal even more disturbing news about Dr. White's allegedly unethical, illegal behavior as well as the sexist culture White has developed at CU. 

We've linked to yesterday's Roys Report article here. That article reveals that Megan Lively, the "rape victim whose story prompted the board at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to fire former President Paige Patterson in 2018 . . . says Cedarville University President Thomas White participated with Patterson in the alleged cover-up of her rape in April 2003." In addition, Roys reports that after Patterson and White covered up the rape and silenced/shamed Lively, she was required to meet multiple times with White’s wife, Joy White, now an assistant professor of women’s studies at Cedarville, as part of a 'disciplinary plan.'” 

In addition to the horror of a rape victim being required to abide by a "disciplinary plan," this information likewise reveals that both Dr. and Mrs. White were apparently involved in that cover-up.

Investigation Update:

As others have reported, lawyers work to zealously represent and benefit the clients who've hired them. In fact, they have a legal duty to do so. Thus, we can expect that this law firm will seek to make CU look as good as possible. We are greatly disappointed that CU has taken this route and not hired an truly independent, outside organization like G.R.A.C.E.

Furthermore, we have learned (and confirmed) that Mindy May, Dean of Women and Director of Counseling at CU, has emailed all the students who had Dr. Anthony Moore as a professor, asking them to share details about any inappropriate interactions that may have occurred. We are disturbed to learn that Mindy May is playing this role in an investigation that is supposed to be "independent." As a CU employee who is likewise a long-time friend and supporter of Dr. White, she clearly is not independent. 

Therefore, if you have information about any inappropriate interactions with Dr. Moore, please contact the investigators listed above directly. Do not contact Mindy May.

If you have further information about other Title IX violations, as is the case with Kiara's story, or Title VII violations, as is the case with the story of "Kat," sadly, those investigators can't help you (because of the investigation's narrow focus). Please consider talking to one another and pursuing appropriate action in order to see justice served. 

Finally, please continue to share our petition and put pressure on Cedarville University's Board of Trustees to fire Dr. White.
