Hello everyone. Everyone’s support to this petition means the world to not just me, but CHS’s student body.
We have found out, that the school legally cannot do anything to hold accountable. The school district has released an email on their stance to the situation, and I personally have emailed administration as well.
My next steps for the situation are as follows:
i: Support the walkout occurring on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 8:40 AM.
ii: Create an excel spreadsheet with names of every signature on this list- excluding the racist ones created to harm this petition.
iii: Speak with government officials on next steps towards stopping racism in schools on a national level with consequences.
One last thing I would like to say is this: Though the acts committed by and are disgusting and vile, please do not send them death threats, treat them with physical violence, etc. We as the student body trying to resolve this should take the high route. This will not help the true intent of what is trying to be achieved. We want to minimize racism to the best of our ability and create a consequence for those whom take ignorant actions to hurt others.
