A little update to let you all know where we’re at with installation of CCTV…..

After this weekends events I would hope that this would be the nail in the coffin so to speak, and a green light for CCTV to be installed imminently.
This weekend my neighbours (both retired and in their 70’s) were yet again targeted and subjected to more aggression and vandalism, resulting in a completely shattered ground floor, front window that they will have to pay for out of their own pockets.
The first incident took place on Friday tea time, rocks were thrown from fisherman’s square creating a hole in the window.
The following evening (Saturday) around the same time more rocks were thrown from the square, apart from the obvious damage, the more worrying matter was to follow. In those same moments another neighbour was outside her property holding her baby grand daughter, when yet more rocks and objects were thrown directly at them. Luckily nobody was hurt.
Finally Sunday early evening, whilst sat in my living room , I heard more disturbance, youths shouting obscenity’s about Friday and Saturdays incidents, this was happening directly outside the home of my neighbours who have had their window smashed. I called the police, and they arrived by which time another neighbour from the opposite side of the square had come outside, he had also had objects thrown at his window. The youths by then had scarpered and nothing was done and no one reprimanded.
So now what? What next? What else needs to happen?? Because the way things are unravelling it’s getting beyond serious and extremely worrying.
I hope that after this has been published and brought to the attention of the necessary people at LCC and the seniors managing our local police, they treat this as a priority, and move rapidly to install the cctv we were promised 9 weeks ago.
Living in fear with this constant barrage of vandalism to our property is unacceptable and we’ve had enough.
