Subject: Request to Implement a Twice-a-Year Board Exam System for CBSE Class 12
Respected Sir/Madam,
We, the undersigned students, parents, and educators, request the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to introduce a twice-a-year board exam system for Class 12, similar to the newly implemented model for Class 10.
Why This Change is Needed:
1. Reduces Stress and Exam Anxiety – A single board exam puts immense pressure on students, affecting mental health and performance.
2. Provides a Second Chance – Students should have the opportunity to improve their scores without wasting an entire academic year.
3. Aligns with NEP 2020 – The National Education Policy promotes flexibility in assessments; this change would align with its vision.
4. Prepares Students for Competitive Exams – JEE, NEET, CUET, and other entrance exams allow multiple attempts. Class 12 students should also have this flexibility.
5. Ensures Fair Evaluation – Sometimes, students underperform due to unforeseen circumstances (illness, anxiety, etc.). A second attempt ensures a more accurate reflection of their abilities.
Proposed Model:
Two Board Exams Per Year – First in Feb-March, second in May-June.
Best-of-Two System – The highest marks from both attempts should be considered for the final result.
No Extra Practical Exams – Internal assessments should remain once a year to avoid excessive burden.
We strongly believe that implementing this system for Class 12 will empower students, reduce academic pressure, and bring Indian education closer to global standards.
We urge CBSE to take this step for the betterment of lakhs of students across the country.
