Seeking to establish a set of fair and reasonable guidelines for all current and future "Star Trek" fan films. Guidelines that protect CBS and their intellectual property, while at the same time open up said property to creativity of the fan base. The hope is for CBS to pull together a creative council of fans, professionals and legal experts to establish a logical set of fan film guidelines for the "Star Trek" property. "Star Trek" lives today because of the creative inspirations of the fan base helped to keep the series alive.
