CREATURES COMFORT-SASCAP started this petition to CBC, DMC, KMC, some local citizens and

We need the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Attorney General to step in and provide JUSTICE for street dogs who have been brutally massacre by the government departments and help animal welfares in relocating and vaccinating street animals.

As the prime minister promised to make Naya Pakistan on the basis of Riyast e Madinah so you will have to work for animal welfare along with humans or be answerable to Allaah on Judgment Day. You quoted Omer (r) in your inaugural speech, “I would be responsible even if a hungry dog died at the banks of Dajjlah” but Pakistani street animals are being killed mercilessly on your watch. We have the alternate cruelty free solutions to these problems but our system is not working. This is a blue print of our demands.

Pakistan is a member of World Organization on Animal Health, OIE or Office International des Epizooties. Member states have to ensure five basic freedoms for animals:

● Freedom from hunger, thirst and malnutrition

● Freedom from fear and distress

● Freedom from physical and thermal discomfort

● Freedom from pain, injury and disease

● Freedom to express normal patterns of behavior relevant to the animals own kind.

1. A complete new law should be written and enforced which ensures animal rights.

2. Technology based Zoos, animal Sanctuaries and Safari parks.

3. Cruelty to all animals, especially performing animals must be stopped.

4. Cruelty free Hallal meat in all slaughter houses and meat shops.

5. Strays should be provided animal “Panahgahs”.

6. Educate the masses about animal rights using all means.

7. Breeders and pet shops should have strict check on them.

8. Experts and religious scholars should be involved to remove misconceptions.

9. Our Prophet (s) forbade imprisoning birds in cages.

10. The beasts of burden should also be treated humanely.

11. More trained vets and health facilities for animals.

12. Revive, Society for the Prevention of cruelty to animals.

We have been trying to make things better for our Pakistani local animals since our government came into power but sadly not much has been achieved even after reaching the highest levels. We need direct orders from you and your personal interest in this issue.

As the government of Pakistan has no animal protection laws, no criminal offence laws against animal abusers, and an open policy of killing stray dogs on a yearly basis. Thousands of dogs are being killed in the streets of almost all the cities of Pakistan, as the Government of Pakistan kills more than 50,000 dogs each year. These loving animals are shot or poisoned by the very government that should be protecting them.

Even the general public appreciates the killing of thousands of dogs each year, and many citizens take part in the killings, hanging dogs in the streets.

25,000 stray dogs are expected to be poisoned and shot within the next 60 days across Pakistan.

Karachi and Lahore have the highest rate of dog kills each year with more than 20,000 dogs killed in these two cities alone. For smaller cities the average rate of dog kills per year is in the range of 3,000 to 6,000 dogs.

Dogs have been considered man’s best friend for thousands of years and it’s easy to see why; they’ve protected us, hunted by our side, herded livestock, saved lives, assisted the disabled, and served in the police and military. Most of all, they have established themselves as loyal and faithful companions, offering us unconditional love.

Please raise your voice against this tyranny by signing our petition to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
