Colony Collapse Disorder, or CCD, is the phenomenon surrounding the disappearance of a majority of bees from a hive. There is no widely accepted cause of CCD, however, proposed ideas which have gained most recognition include pathogens, pesticides, and viruses. France has already banned the use of certain pesticides, in hopes of combating this crisis. Now it is time for Canada to do its part. The purpose of this petition is to get Catherine McKenna, the Environment and Climate Change Minister of Canada to recognise the concern Canadians have for this issue, and to urge her to look into adequate ways to help save the bees.
