Yesterday we topped 1500 signatures with our petition to Bring Back HOPE to Downtown Salinas - thank you! Through your help with signing and sharing, we have the attention of the SCCIA board of directors, the mayor and City Council, and the media. We could not have done this without you - thanks! Please continue to spread the word by sharing this petition through social media, email, and telling people about how they can help make a difference in our community. As Margaret Mead once said — 'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.' We can make and have made a difference already! PS: There is a public meeting to receive input regarding the Downtown Salinas Vibrancy Plan on Thursday, September 21st at the Steinbeck Center/CSUMB at 6pm - please attend! The current plan calls for ripping up ALL the sidewalks to replace them with grey to match the Taylor sidewalk, tearing out the planters and cutting down all the trees. The City needs your input on these plans - please join us!
