Demand That Carteret Public Schools In NJ Go Virtual in the Fall

The Issue

We are students, parents, workers, and citizens in Carteret, NJ and considering the innumerable health risks and the inherent lack of equity in any hybrid model for reopening, as well as the recent change in New Jersey state guidelines and the Mid August decision by our neighbors in Perth Amboy, Rahway, and countless other districts to go completely remote for the Fall of 2020, we call upon the Carteret Board of Education to move the Carteret Public Schools to an entirely remote model of learning for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis, a decision which will save lives.  Not to mention, Carteret was the first school in NJ to cancel all sports, yet they still plan to invite teachers and students into packed schools come September.
