Recently the Leitrim County Council approved a plan to cut down 40 trees on the road to Tesco. This plan would kill 40 tress dating back to the 60s. This plan would also go against the Government plan for The Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Act 2021 requires Ireland to achieve a 51% reduction in emissions by 2030, relative to 2018 levels, and net-zero emissions by 2050. I am asking you on behalf of the people of Carrick On Shannon to please bring this issue up with the Leitrim County Council.
