PPS Provided Me with a Response

Hello All, I just got a response from PPS and wanted to share it with you. I will let it speak for itself. I am still extremely disappointed in the way this has been handled and the lack of accountability and respect across the board. It is unfortunate that under the current administration something like 7-9 coaches have been let go, forced out, or scared away this year. At this point it is the responsibility of the community to continue to push and demand accountability from the administration. This is really more then just what happened to John they are systematically destroying what the community has helped to build. From Sascha Perrins, Senior Director March 18th, 2016 Dear Adam, Thank you for contacting me to share your support for your father John Teuscher. From reading your online petition, I can see that John was beloved by many in the Roosevelt HS and North Portland Community for his long career as a coach and the contributions he has made in the community. While I cannot discuss the specifics about John’s employment, I can say that I appreciate his dedication to athletics at Roosevelt and in his community work in North Portland over the years. Clearly it has had an impact on many students’ lives. Our focus in our Athletics programs is to provide every athlete with opportunities, positive recognition, and learning experiences that support and maximize the academic goals of our high school. Specifically at Roosevelt, this means holding students to high expectations. When the new boys soccer coach is hired next year, I hope he or she will be as dedicated as Mike has been. Sincerely, Sascha Perrins Note: Mike
