Our building, Rowan Lodge, has been owned by Carlton Social and Bowling Club Building Company Ltd (Them) since June 1913. For 111 years the Club and Building Company have co-existed,  providing a popular and essential social club in Whalley Range.

Suddenly the Building Company have issued an eviction notice to Carlton Social and Bowling Club CIC (Us), stating they wish to run their own business from the Premises. Members of the Carlton Club will know that the social club has gone from strength to strength since it became a Community Interest Company and as such we believe the proposed eviction from the premises shows a complete disregard for the club's importance to social, cultural and environmental wellbeing in Whalley Range and is legally contestable.

Our time to Act is now! The Board of the Carlton Club CIC (Us)are working to fight the eviction notice, IT’S BUSINESS AS USUAL, there are various workstreams, but one way you can help is to sign this petition and share it with anyone else who will be affected by this threat to the Carlton Club. Petition to Save Our Club

To: Carlton Social and Bowling Club Building Co. Directors (Them), Local Government Officials, and Concerned Stakeholders

We, the undersigned members and users of The Carlton Social and Bowling Club CIub (Us) urgently call upon Carlton Social and Bowling Club Building Co. Directors (Them) and all relevant authorities to take immediate action to prevent the eviction of our beloved club from its only and rightful home - Rowan Lodge.

For 111 years, Rowan Lodge has been the home of the Carlton Club and has been a cornerstone of Whalley Range community life, providing a safe and welcoming environment for members to gather, to listen to music, dance, engage in social activities, and foster lifelong friendships. The proposed eviction threatens not only the physical space we cherish but also the community spirit and connections that define our club.

Why Our Club Matters:

- Community Hub - The Carlton Club serves as a central gathering place for members of all ages and backgrounds, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging.

- Social Engagement - Our club hosts numerous events, activities, and programs that promote social interaction, personal development, and well-being.

- Cultural Significance - The Carlton Club holds a special place in our hearts, preserving traditions and creating lasting memories for generations of members.

Our Appeal:

We respectfully urge The Carlton Social and Bowling Club Building Co Directors to:

1. Reconsider the Eviction - Halt any proceedings related to the eviction and engage in open dialogue with club representatives to explore mutually beneficial solutions.

2. Preserve Our Heritage and Nature - Recognise the historical, cultural and environmental significance of The Carlton Club and its vital role in creating an inclusive and sustainable future for Whalley Range.

3. Support Community Interests - Act in the best interest of the community by allowing The Carlton Social and Bowling Club CIC to continue operating from Rowan Lodge.
