John Surtees died on March 10th 2017. He wasn't just the only man to win the premiere World Championships on both four wheels and two wheels, he was also a legendary "RingMeister". Fastest laps, race wins, any vehicle, any conditions, that was Surtees.

He deserves a corner of the Nordschleife to be named after him in perpetuity. By naming it simply "Surtees" we can not only honour a motorsports hero, but also his family name and dynasty, which was tragically cut short when his son Henry was killed at Brands Hatch circuit in 2009.
