Happy New Year! Following our meeting with East Kent Housing in December we continue to collect signatures. Armando was subject to two further incidents of anti social behaviour over the holiday period and we have written again requesting an action plan with timescales for dealing with the ASB and implementing the agreed solution. Thanks to one of our 2092 signatories, we also found another amateur radio station operating happily from similar sheltered accommodation, using a substantial antenna with much larger space requirements. We have now suggested that EKH reviews and adopts a best practice approach as we suggested in December, and ends what appears to be a post code lottery. Thank you for all your responses. Please keep sharing. We want everyone who is retired to be able to enjoy their hobby until they give up voluntarily and without interference from be-grudging neighbours. To this effect we are also in communication with the Radio Society of Great Britain asking them to consider the problem which stems from inconsistently operated, out dated planning laws and ignorance that can be exploited by toxic people in personal attacks on radio amateurs. Some councils (but not Canterbury City) realise this and take into account when dealing with complaints. (Ten other signatories said they had the same treatment from neighbours as Armando in that respect).
