Time for us to be PROPER Democracy campaigners, show Gina Miller how it should be done!

First up, a diversion from this petition for a moment, to talk about another Petition that has already succeeded. After gaining 103,000 signatures on the Parliament petition website, the House will now debate Proportional Representation on October 30th. I have written an article exploring this, with an appeal and provided toolkit to contact your MP before the vote to urge them to vote for the motion to change to PR. You may not agree with me on this topic, but please read the argument I present in the article linked below, and its not just what we do when we sign petitions that count, but what we do to take advantage of the opportunities when we get a win. Returning to Gina Miller, I have pushed this petition with a second round of press releases, and we have had some response. One news source declined the story because "we are not book burners" which I thought a trifle unfair because: a) Don't need to burn a book that's not been printed b) Miller can self publish her book, there is no need for Canongate to stick a profit making snout in. c) There is something deeply wrong with the picture of a "transparent democracy campaigner", (as Miller laughably claims to be, instead of a disrupting agent of an opposing power (the EU plutocracy), which is what she really is), being so OPAQUE about this deal with Canongate. There really is a major question to be asked, without knowing how much Miller will be paid for the manuscript, how can we know the print run and RRP will credibly recap profits for Canongate and prove this ISNT the back-hand pay-off we suspect it to be? The deal clearly needs more rigorous investigation that the likes of the Guardian have given it! So as you can see, I am developing counter-points to these sort of objections as they come along. Another site has been much more open to the petition, and they may come through with a feature article, which obviously is the sort of profile boost we would like the petition to have. Sunday evening my personal Facebook Group Ban should expire, so once out of Zuckerberg's sin bin, I will do a round of group shares and sharing across 100 or so groups should see the profile rise. Any and all support and actions YOU do to support the petition are vitally important and fully appreciated: We do what we can, but we must strive to at least do that much.
