1.2.1 firmware doesn't have the freeze

In response to my email asking to confirm whether latest 1.2.1 firmware contains the fix of the freeze problem, I've just been informed by Canon Australia of the following: "Unfortunately this firmware announcement is unrelated. It corrects a freeze that happens when activating the shutter button for the purpose of still image capture while in the middle of video capture. We also understand that the video capture freeze reported by your group does not display Err 70 or Err 80 either, as it does in this case. The phenomenon reported by your group is still under investigation by Canon Inc." In a view of further freeze crashes expected to happen with mk3 owners, I repeat my call on bringing your cameras in for inspection to local Canon Service centres.
