A New Opportunity to Stop the Dan Andrews Statue

Hi. There may be a new opportunity to stop the taxpayer-funded statue of disgraced former Premier Daniel Andrews.

New Victorian Premier Ben Carroll has so far stopped short of committing to installing the controversial statue.

The statue was commissioned at taxpayers' expense by former Premier Jacinta Allan, a close ally of Daniel Andrews from Labor's Socialist Left faction.

Ben Carroll has repeatedly said he will honour existing contracts. There's a simple solution: honour the contract, pay the sculptor, then melt the statue down and recycle the bronze. Taxpayers would avoid paying compensation for cancelling the contract, while Victoria would avoid permanently honouring one of its most divisive former premiers.
