Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared the petition so far.
This petition is about the disruption caused by the road closures, particularly the proposed 12 month closure of Sandon Road B5066.
Everyone understands that roads and infrastructure need to be built.
What seems to get forgotten is the impact on the people and businesses already here.

The closure is linked to a development of around 2,000 homes.
Residents and commuters face longer journeys, extra fuel costs and disruption.
Businesses face reduced passing trade and customers struggling to reach them.
We’re told about the benefits of these developments, but people are asking where those benefits are for the communities living with the disruption.

There are also questions about why so many new developments result in more #Fleecehold, #FakeFreehold and #Unadoptedestates arrangements, with public open space, drainage systems and other public infrastructure left under private management companies.

Most people would expect this infrastructure to be publicly adopted and accountable, rather than left in private hands while residents on the new development pay council tax and additional uncapped and unregulated estate management and maintenance charges.
It’s difficult to see how this creates a fair, sustainable and cohesive community.

People are being asked to live with years of construction traffic, road closures and disruption, while questions remain about who will eventually own and maintain the public infrastructure being built.

Thank you again for your support.
Please share the petition with others who may be affected.
