With 44 million people in the United States, we have accumulated $1.7 trillion of student debt. Our younger generations are hurting so much more due to recession, low wages and rising cost of everything. Many graduates worry about their financial future: student debt reduces the chances of being able to afford a mortgage, own a home and puts a delay on other milestones in life. The rising cost of college and the existing volume of loans needs to be addressed. Why should we have to pay tens of thousands of dollars every year just to get an education? We are harming our generation and future ones from reaching our financial and personal life goals. Student debt needs to be eliminated. This is a call to the Biden Administration to expand the Pell Grant System and cancel all current student debt.

We encourage you to spread the word and to take action in your own communities! Some good places to start are:

- Support local politicians in favor of the student forgiveness plan
- Support organizations (Rolling Jubilee, Shared Harvest Fund)
- Participate in discussion (social media, protest, etc.)
- Educate yourself by reading up-to-date articles and stories
