The Goth scene—a sanctuary for many—is now divided. Dark Force Fest, an anticipated event in our community, has sparked controversy by initially booking a band viewed as deeply problematic by a large part of its audience. When the outrage became palpable, this band was cancelled, but with NO official explanation or statement from the festival organizers. This has left festival goers bewildered and upset. 

Many of us have already purchased non-refundable tickets in good faith, expecting a peaceful gathering of like-minded individuals celebrating the scene that unites us. Now, not only are we uncertain if we will attend, but we also face financial losses. We're witnessing our community fracture over this issue, leaving us to question if the event should even proceed.

There is genuine concern over potential violence arising from this decision. Will anger and frustration lead to clashes? Could law enforcement or even Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) show up due to the unrest? The situation is volatile and unpredictable.

The emotional and financial toll on our community has been significant. A venue meant for joy and celebration has become a point of contention and concern. It is vital that we re-evaluate the viability and safety of holding Dark Force Fest 2026 under these conditions.

We respectfully call for the immediate cancellation of Dark Force Fest 2026 to prevent any further harm to our community and to avoid any potential incidents that could arise. We urge the festival organizers to take this necessary step to protect the integrity and safety of all involved.
