Every year State Fair Of West Virginia(SFOWV) brings fun and entertainment to Lewisburg,Wv. However this year we are in the middle of a Coronavirus pandemic. More than 100,000 Americans have lost their lives. To host such a major annual event would bring a huge unnecessary risk to the local community. That's why we are petitioning that the (SFOWV) be canceled for the year of 2020!

Many people come to our small town from states all around. They travel for hundreds of miles to showcase their products and promote their business. People from across the state come for food and entertainment. According to (SFOWV) CEO Kelly Collins, more than 160,000 people attended the 2019 (SFOWV).

To invite more 160,000 people to a gathering is only asking for trouble. Our local healthcare facilities are not capable of handling a major surge of coronavirus patients. Thousands of individuals could become easily infected, hundreds could even lose their lives.

(SFOWV) has chosen to move forward with the event knowingly endangering the public. Putting money, before public safety.

That's why we're petitioning that our local government not issue safety permits, or food handler permits to (SFOWV) vendors. We are also asking that the local sheriff's department. Not provide any kind of law enforcement assistance or traffic control to the (SFOWV).

We are also asking that all performers including Cody Johnson, Whiskey Myers, Chris Tomlin, Jon Pardi cancel their events.

Finally we want all of the local sponsors to pull their sponsorships and not participate in the 2020 (SFOWV). Some of the sponsors include Pepsi, Southern States, Tractor Supply, First Energy, Farm Credit, Sprint, SJ Neathawk lumber, West Virginia lottery, Hometown RV, Frontier Communications, US cellular, West Virginia University, Burger King and many more.

If vendors are unable to serve food, carnival cannot operate because it has not received safety inspections. People can't make it to the fairgrounds because there's no traffic control. Artist cancel their concerts, and sponsors cancel there sponsorships. (SFOWV) will be forced to cancel or operate at a limited capacity.
