We did it! Well mostly Dan Strickland did it and the Gray Jay is no more!!! Long live the Canada Jay, a long suffering species that finally regained its rightful monicker. The American Ornithological Society has voted to "Restore Canada Jay as the English name of Perisoreus canadensis." Congratulations to the 10,000 signatories who took the time to sign this petition and make a comment so that we could help make this historic name change a reality. Now on to Ottawa to acquire National Bird status!!!
