Dear friends, supporters of the Hypatia Day petition,

Today is the vernal equinox day, which is also the eighth anniversary of the petition and the 1609 anniversary of Hypatia's death.

We remember her as a martyr of Science, one who refused to repudiate her scientific observations about the timing of the vernal equinox in 415 CE.

She is a veritable example and ecouragement for all of us, and not only scientists and scholars, but also all curious individuals and truth seekers around the globe.
