With over 25,000 signatures received it is clear that many Canadians care deeply about the treatment of persons with disabilities, and fully agree that it's well past time to adopt the Protocol. A heartfelt thanks is expressed to all supporters for helping to strengthen this message to government, and for propelling this campaign to the next level. In an upcoming update we will post the submission being made to Minister Qualtrough, who is currently conducting a national consultation on what the new legislation on "Canadians with Disabilities" will look like. Supporters pf this petition are encouraged to submit or present their own opinion on this subject, and to include in it the need to make the Protocol an important part of Canadian law. In a future update there will also be more details on how the petition will be brought to Parliament.
