Kanesatake Pines should remain as ancestral lands

Kanesatake Pines should remain as ancestral lands
The Issue
The Pines of Kanesatake have always been ancestral lands for the Mohawk people. Long before contact, the kanienkehaka used these lands for ceremony and hunting.
Recently, the neighboring town of Oka has put a claim on our lands as their own and want to claim it as their heritage site. The end goal is to build condo’s as they have done with other land lots that belonged to the community of Kanehsatake.
With the signing of this petition, we hope that those responsible for the decision to return the pines back The people of Kanehsatake have always been here and our lands are getting smaller and smaller. Please help our community by signing this petition and sharing with friends, family and on social media to spread the injustices faced by many indigenous people across turtle island. Land theft needs to end. LAND BACK ✊
