The vote for the future of the shark fin trade in Canada is happening this week, the time to act is now!
Sharks need your help. Shark populations have declined and one of the greatest threats they face is the demand for their fins. While shark finning is illegal in Canadian waters, we still import shark fins from other countries, including fins of several endangered and threatened sharks — such as whale sharks, great hammerhead sharks and shortfin mako sharks.
But, now, there's hope to end this cruel trade once and for all. Bill S-238 will be introduced in the House of Commons on Wednesday. The Bill is in the final stages before becoming law, having already passed the Senate last fall.

We need MPs to hear from their community on this issue so that when the Bill is voted on in the House of Commons in the next few days they will be compelled to protect sharks. It will only take a few minutes, sharks can't wait any longer.
