Thanks to your support we’ve almost reached 150,000 signatures in support of banning the shark fin trade in Canada! This is a major milestone and will help support the passage of Bill S-238 through the House of Commons.

Why is it so important to take a stand for sharks? Unfortunately, sharks face many other threats from human activity. In 2014, researchers estimated that as many as 100 million sharks are caught and killed worldwide due to bycatch, illegal fishing and the demand for shark fins. Sharks are targeted globally by both highly industrialized fishing fleets and smaller artisanal fisheries, making it harder for endangered sharks to stand a chance of surviving.
