Discontinue Plan to Cease Package Acceptance at All Camden Properties

Discontinue Plan to Cease Package Acceptance at All Camden Properties
The Issue
The residents of Camden apartments nationwide have received notice that each property will cease accepting packages on behalf of the residents effective 8/1/2015. The reason for this change is stated as "an increase in online ordering".
The "benefits" listed in the notice include "Putting you in Control", "Give You Peace of Mind", and "Provide Flexible Options".
This in fact removes "Peace of Mind" and "Flexible Control" by no forcing residents to:
- have packages shipped to their place of employment, which is not allowed by many major employers
- utilize a third party location particular to each vendor, which will now be confusing and extremely inconvenient for residents
- pay additional money, on top of current rent and mandatory fees, to establish a rental box for centralized deliveries
To add insult to injury, the Camden Farmer's Market Manager asked for recommendations as to what new services they could provide to utilize the newly found free time of the office staff. If they will indeed have new free time, why not simply keep the service?
We ask that you reconsider this decision and keep in tact a service that is truly beneficial to your residents.
In a highly competitive rental market, services such as package acceptance, are in high demand and are considered "the norm" at most complexes.
Please do what is right for your customer and hear their voices.
Thank you,
Camden Residents Nationwide
